I think the Boot Manager like Grub2 cantrol the resolution from the beginning then pass the resolution to the kernel..?
You need the rpi bluetooth firmware too. But yes, bluez from the 9.x repo wont work.

I pulled the bootx64.efi from a different linux ditro (puppy linux), then i moved the grub.cfg file to the root directory on the usb drive and doing that has gotten it workin...
