boot code

Hi im trying to do a frugal install inside a working linux system, what i did was to put inside a folder the 2 folder /boot and /tce and put that in 40 custom grub like this
linux /tinycore/boot/vmlinuz
initrd /tinycore/boot/core.gz
but i got only prom...
